This is pretty amazing! I always thought it was kind of ridiculous that you can buy an online game and not be able to play it someday, with no easy solution.

It’s not just that. Some games use DRM to call home, even not being an online game. So when they turn that verification server off the game ceases to work, even if you just want to do single player.
