Yeah a little desktop extender for the dongle to plug into vertically should work great, I use them for my full body tracking dongles to get them closer to my play space and it made it flawless.
Comment on Questions about the steam frame
FlihpFlorp@piefed.zip 3 weeks agoi didn’t even think of that, but another comment said it shouldn’t be an issue, so im not worried. Even if it does cause problems I can try to use that top port, and worse case scenario i can use an extender

I would be surprised if your PC blocks enough signal to warrant getting an extender, but if you do find that you need one, make sure it’s at least a true USB 3.0. Plugging a 2.0 extender into your 3.0 port effectively turns it into a 2.0 port.
In your post, you asked
Almost certainly it can’t. USB 3.0 has about 10x the data transfer speed of 2.0, so if they specify 3.0 it probably needs it.

As other have said the pc in terms of connectivity something like a PC doesn’t count as an obstacle so sounding like I won’t have issue with the usb 3.0 on the back
Also TIL, had no idea usb 3 has such higher speed
