Comment on Reddit will force everyone to log in

This happened about a week ago, right? I was having trouble viewing comments on redlib instances, and now there’s a fork using some kind of scraping solution that a few instances have adopted. No clue how long that will continue working, but we’ll see.
I’m not particularly interested in using reddit as an active user but there is still useful info still on reddit for some things.
Hopefully, the alternative front-ends can keep ahead of the walled-garden curve and keep this valuable info open, even if reddit itself doesn’t give a shit.
Redlib is struggling because Reddit put their public json feeds for threads behind a log-in. Sounds like some instances are logging in on the server, but then that makes public instances a lot more susceptible to rate limiting.
That's stopping a lot of automated data access, but not the same as blocking all access behind a log-in.

and yesterday just removed old reddit entirely to people that arnt logged in. even with logged in, they will eventually sunset it.
im using a reskin extension.
