Relly nice to be here! Really exciting to follow this project, particurarly after losing all faith in the lemmy project for becoming a proper long term flagship forum solution for the fediverse.
I don't think their insane politics will work in the long run and probably tarnish their growth potential as well as their unprofessional behavior leaves much to be desired.
The lack of actual federation is also an issue.
Right now lotide looks like it got a lot of potential, although it's kind of offputting to a eneral audience. Probably needs to be cleaned up and polished visually. But that's more a front end thing and has more to do with hitide I guess heheh

Interesting! I've gotten the impression that Lemmy federates quite well. Of course, it doesn't federate has well as lotide does.
But yes, long-term, Lotide's neutral nature makes it a far more likely long-term Fediverse platform than Lemmy.

That's one of the major reasons I rejected lemmy as an option for what we're doing on goldandblack.xyz. The software is too politicized, it's too edgy teenager, it tries too hard to be rebellious. The forum software you use shouldn't be a virtue signal.

Lemmy only works with other instances of the lemmyverse currently.

Posts actually federate on Mastodon and Pleroma! See this as an example:

The problem is, we can't follow Lemmy users outside of Lemmy.
