  I was going to get this, but then read that the new DRM made it unplayable on deck. Is that not true?

    That was for Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak.I think Capcom fixed the steam deck issue now.

    Monster Hunter World still works perfectly for me.

    I tried it (monster hunter rise) after the DRM update and it’s working fine now.
