So it’s basically a hot pile of sand with a steam engine attached to it? I don’t know if I think this will actually work but it does seem like a fun concept

How do you think we create most of the electricity in the first place? Burn coal to heat water to spin a turbine. In some countries we replace coal for uranium to do the exact same thing. 1000c is a lot of energy

I mean, it works. The question is if it works well enough. Heating things to make steam is how nuclear power plants work. Solar tower power plants use heated salt instead of sand. That sounds pretty similar to me.
