You can’t do things unless you get achievements for them? Good lord.

You know, I’ll be candid. Them never adding any more achievements really hasn’t helped me go back to the game. I wish with all this extra content they would have added some so I had some goals to work towards/enjoy when going back. It’s just a mess of things when I open it up now. Don’t even know where to start.

No, I’m actually working through my backlog and it’s been the best overall way to track what I’ve done and haven’t done in a game. I’ve played tons of games without them. (My most played game does not have them.) Fuck, I’d be happy at this point if they added at least a damn guide of all the shit I missed when I wasn’t playing. It’s just sensory overload when opening up NMS.

You should try the Expeditions. If you you achievements as a guide, the expeditions pretty much do that. They’re not explicitly called Achievements but the different stages and accomplishments are functionally the same thing.

Have they removed any of the time constraints?

Nah they just haven’t (to my knowledge) patched the ability to roll back to an exhibition via various means.

So while I upvoted because it is clearly a personal opinion, adding achievements to games over time can impact people in a couple of ways. I sometimes do them for fun, but know some people who are dedicated to completing sll achievements for games they love.
Someone who has already hit 100% achievements would lose that 100%. A lot of people care about stuff like that.
If the achievement is time locked, someone who starts later cannot 100% the achievements. I have some achievements in a game I played that can never be achieved now because the conditions needed for it to be met no longer exist.
There are some people that like time locked and unobtainable achievements, so it is a balance between people who want ongoing achievements and those that want a specific list to work through at whatever pace they choose to play.

Agreed. I 100% ed vampire survivors before they added a ton of DLCs with new achievements. Now I can’t find the want to earn more.
I wish Steam could handle achievements like PlayStation, where individual DLCs all get different achievement sections

That’s my issue with it that I’ve already 100% the game myself a long time ago and every time I’ve gone back, I’ve just either been lost as to what to do, or already done with the content they added and then looked at all that had been added and just couldn’t be bothered. I wish there was some way to get a reward or whatever for completing objectives, but in the case of this game, I’ve got a life and missed a lot of the rewards due to running out of time.
