Sounds like you’re relinquishing a lot of unnecessary information to the cop who will walk it back to their cruiser and likely scan your phone for information unrelated to your traffic violation.

The Danish police has the same app, where they can scan a QR code I show them.
So no, you don’t hand your phone to the police.
