I have no problem giving everyone access to means of socializing online. We have or have had BBS, Usenet, IRC and many more ways to do this. The problem with “social media”, IMHO, are the algorithms and addictive design concepts as well as the fact that these platforms are designed to extract as much information from the user as possible.
