And we were both born and raised in a culture that is infatuated with thinking. So when we think, “thinking is great”, we gotta wonder.

Considering drugs, meditation, intense pain, intense pleasure, breathing techniques, hanging out with weirdos, good art, travel, renunciation… to name a few

Check out the Allegory of the Cave, might change your mind about the usefulness of Plato. You might also find something interesting in the philosophy of Pythagoras's cult and in the stoics.

I think that thinking is not as central in importance as you make it out to be.
