Got the email a few mins ago and it’s already sold out. I doubt the interest was that much, did anyone here snag one?
I’m on the fence about the whole thing. The big turnoff for me was the custom BIOS. Personally, if they can get the same 800p screen but better in terms of color accuracy, I might bite on that. But like others have said, don’t know if I want to push the deck’s hardware into 1200p when it was designed with 800p in mind

Deck performance is already maxed. I’d hate to try and crush the extra pixels, on top of the fact that you have to swap the screens and flash the bios.

Point well taken about the dangers of swapping the screen and flashing the BIOS. But performance being maxed is super relative. I stream to my steam deck regularly, and there are multiple games that I play that run on max settings with ease that I really wouldn’t mind the extra pixels on.
Beauty of the Steam Deck is choice afterall.

That’s fair. I was one of the lucky ones and was in the first wave of shipments in late feb/early March. Maybe people that didn’t realize just how extensive a screen replacement would be signed up and ordered one. Hopefully the regular price isn’t much more than the early bird pricing

I have the airs. I love them for gaming but they get hot af. I agree about the screen though. I'd rather have an oled 720p display that gets a lot brighter. I tried to play fh5 at the Portland formula e race in a lull of the on track action and could barely see the screen. The airs didn't help either as I left the covers at home.
