I was able to not only join a Lemmy community, but leave a comment behind as well!
I've got a few communities from Lemmy trying to Fed right now, and it's mostly fine but I don't have the titles coming in.
Lotide actually properly federates with Lemmy!

I've got ideological differences regarding freedom with the lemmy devs. OTOH, I don't run lemmy, so if I can participate from my own custom lotide instance I can live with that compromise.
Putting up walls is the opposite of the point of ActivityPub federation, after all. Free and open discourse without being reliant on anyone is the point.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that it "properly federates", there are still several things that don't work, though it should get a little better in the next release of each
