This is one of the most overhyped technologies ever, it is literally just a more complicated algorithm as the ones found on Youtube or Instagram for content reccomendation or auto correct algorithms. We do not need this much compute power, the secret is in the money as usual. This is all just one giant scheme to generate as much revenu as possible for these companies, the fact that all these municipalities are falling for it is either laughable or scary. Even from a Macchievellian point of view, there’s nothjng long term about this. Once the bubble pops it’s over, all these data centers will be rendered useless or at the very least their capacity will not be fully exploited. All this so a few guys at the top can make a fuck ton of money. It’s pathetic.
