The Earth is big. That atmosphere is bigger. Still, we’re going to see more and more of this happen over time even though it probably isn’t really a problem.

I like how on the Tweet the homeowner was like “I want to speak to NASA’s manager, please.”
How would a claim against space trash even work rn? It’s definitely something that should be figured out because we shouldn’t have people’s houses getting trashed because of what we have going on in space, some type of insurance or damage repair funds should be available to whoever needs it when it comes to space junk.

I read a thing about that yesterday and the responsible party is whomever sent up the junk in the first place.
Which translates directly to “get fucked, pleb.” Because, what? Is China gonna pay out for their crap breaking shit in Texas or Spain? Who’s at fault with international collaborations? Etc.
And the thing I read basically had that as a conclusion as well - good luck getting paid out, and your insurance probably won’t cover it either.
