I’m sceptical about all this. In fact, I’m sceptical about everything!

Wasn’t the new motherboard released even before the OLED?
- Comment on Black Myth: Wukong shows very clearly Valve are selling a lot of Steam Decks 2 months ago:
If a vendor strangely insist on not working on a new product, it’s lying.
In this case it’s obvious, considering we already got 2 minor revisions of steamdeck HW.
- Comment on Steam now identifies reviews that come from Steam Deck players 2 months ago:
Steam provides it’s own linux userspace runtime. The game developers just target that to avoid the problem you describe.
- Comment on Steam Deck gets stuck on "connecting" to WiFi among other weirdness, persists after factory reset. Basically a paperweight at this point, please help. 4 months ago:
The first original recovery image did noy support ethernet connection. Steam wouldn’t let you through the initial setup. Not sure it there’s an updated image available these days.
- Comment on [Rumor] Valve may be working on official Waydroid (Android app) support for Steam 4 months ago:
Before the steamdeck came out, I’ve been actually thinking about buying an android handheld console. The fact that the most android games were pay2win convinced me to wait for something better.
However, getting an android app support, that’s reliably set up, by someone else than me, and basically for free would still be nice!
- Comment on Do you still use your Steam Deck much? 5 months ago:
I love how Endzone, the type of game that usually relies heavily on mouse, has adapted the controls for a gamepad.
- Comment on I used to be a frame rate snob but owning a Steam Deck has made me realise the error of my ways 7 months ago:
I’m getting kinda tired of the slideshow snobs, telling everyone how 30 FPS is enough. The games are supposed to be fun, and not cause nausea. I’m willing to compromise on the former, but not the later.

All they need to do to beat steamos is to release.

I thought I knew a thing or two about cancerous online news sites, but IGN has exceeded all the expectations. Any attempt to scroll down activates a redirect to the localized czech version of the site. Not only is there no dark mode, they are trying to pass the authorsip of the translation to the real human, despite the article being clearly translated by a machine.
- Comment on What does it look like for a YouTube creator when the audience uses something like NewPipe or Freetube? 11 months ago:
+1 NewPipe
- Comment on So uhh.. how often should I be washing me towels? 11 months ago:
How often should you, I cannot tell. I do it when it’s no longer white, and the idea of using it starts to seem repulsive. This strategy has worked for over a decade.
- Comment on Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit 11 months ago:
Open sourcing proton wasn’t due to a lawsuit.
Wine and dxvk was already opensource. They couldn’t have closed it even if they wanted to.

TIL: valve is run by robots.

This is not how the masks work though. If I were honestly concerned about my health I’d take this as an insult.
- Comment on Steam :: Steam Deck :: SteamOS 3.5.5 Update 1 year ago:
Can you see any difference between the left and center though? I can’t see any difference on the test image, but the colors on the home screen seems more saturated.
I’d love to hear more from people who implemented this.

valve literally said they weren’t going to do it
Raspberry pi said so as well. Moth later, the new model was released.

I don’t really mind the weight. It’s the shape that I can’t stand. Whereas the steam controller is shaped like /0’0\ the deck is shaped like \°| |°/ . Keeping the wrists in such a sharp angle can’t be healthy.
