Lucky you.

Mesh routers are nothing to recommend lightly. Most are a complete headache to set up.

Worked for me. Saves weere still there after my internal ssd swap. Had my saves on sd card.

How are the possibilities to change the on screen keyboard?

It’s not. Or I wanna see your breakfast in the morning.
- Comment on My Steam Deck's arriving 1 year ago:
The only thing I had issue with was the cable to the battery. For the longest time it felt like I had zero progress removing it. I even started doubting I did it right, then it started moving. Take your time. Also the shielding didn’t fit my ssd. So I had to carefully open it up and wrap it arround. I still never felt I was outside of my comfort zone. And I never do this type of thing. Just take it slow.

Mine didn’t have any issues when I swapped.

Is it now? I don’t hear anything. Gimme an official Xbox Game Pass app tho! Sure it’s easy enough to work arround but official apps are guud!

I would also argue the new portable from said company emulates incredibly well on most titles.

I bought an external travel monitor just recently. 15-16", 10800 mah battery, 1080p. Very thin. Plug it into the usb c and the screen even have touch. Pair this with a dock, a small keyboard and wireless mouse and you basically have that laptop for when you need it. Brings cost up somewhat for sure. But now you can use it as handheld, on a screen, or on the tv.

So the same as 98% of users. But losing w/e games you had on there, if not installed directly from Steam, might be a frustrating endeavour. Just wanted to give a heads up. If you didn’t really need it, that’s ok and a thanks is alright. Have a good day.

It was just a post by someone claiming to work in retail and they had a lot of people coming in with sd cards about 1 year after Steam Deck release saying they had used it in a Deck. Nothing more to share I’m afraid. Hard to know how true it is but good to know so you can make backups.
- Comment on multiplayer? 1 year ago:
A lot of retailers claim people are returning with se cards that stop working after about a year in the Steam Deck. Not sure about the validity but good information to take in notheless.

I used a plastic bender-tool thingie that I’ve bought. I used the same tool to swap earbuds on my headphones a while back which brought new life to my old, worn, but expensive headphones. Actually worth it since it’s SO much easier to open stuff.
I followed a youtube video to do the swap. Took me about 2 hours going through it all very slowly. Detaching the battery cord is what took the most time and patience. Just a very slow process where I questioned if I’m even making progress, but it loosened eventually.
Not at all hard to do. Just required a little attention and I watched the whole guide before I got started.

Agree. Guessing you aren’t using CryoUtilities for higher vram and such. Mine got full in an instant and it was all I had locally. Dunno what caused it.

If you want a screen protector, stay away from the 512gb version since you either put a protector with glare ontop of the anti glare screen. Or double down on anti glare which reduces image quality.
Most people should probably buy the 256 gb version and get a large external storage.
Only buy the 64gb version if you are looking to make an internal swap. It’s very easy but obviously not for everyone. Some people argue that 64 gb is ok if you buy a 512gb se card or bigger. But shaders cache caches up to most of us. It’s a bitch, and storage will fill up even if you have 0 games in internal storage. Especially if you wanna use a basic install of CryoUtilities which I recommend everyone to do.

How does your EA app crash? They recently changed their launcher so you have to download some .dlls and a font to be able to log on using the Deck. There is a decently easy way to fix it if you google and check youtube.

- Comment on Useful new Decky Plugin: Battery Tracker 1 year ago:
Yeah it really is a good plugin manager.
- Comment on Useful new Decky Plugin: Battery Tracker 1 year ago:
I think we all share your opinions. And Decky loader really is grandmother-safe. The Bluetooth plugin is the one I like the most since my headset sometimes doesn’t connect automatically. So I can turn BT off and on again, and reconnect very easily. I also like the plugin where I can see recommended settings on games and apply them manually if I want to. Stuff like that. It’s less of a mod than you would really think.
- Comment on Useful new Decky Plugin: Battery Tracker 1 year ago:
Nothing about Decky will be an issue. It’s been around for very long.
- Comment on Useful new Decky Plugin: Battery Tracker 1 year ago:
Nothing can happen using Decky Loader and you don’t have to load the bleeding edge plugins if you don’t want to. It all up to you which plugins you use. It’s one of the most useful tools for the Deck. The plugins you use could be really basic, like helping you change icons on the games, reach menu for Bluetooth without going into settings, getting HowLongToBeat stats on your game info, etc. It’s all very handy and extremely easy to set up. YouTube is your friend on this one.
You should also check out CryoUtilities. It’s not going to be for you if you don’t wanna use third party apps right now. But at least check out his youtube video explaining the tool anyway. You will find it interesting and learn quite a lot even of you don’t install the software.

Sounds good. My gaming pc needed a complete blowout anyway so I’m trying to convert to Linux as we speak. A lot to learn. But it feels manageable and not as overwhelming anymore.

Any notablie differences between Nvidia vs. AMD based GPUs? I’ve read that Nvidia cards can struggle on Linux with certain software. If there aren’t any notable problems I will probably try Linux everywhere.
