It’s because they’re all hoping that LLMs will get exponentially better, and faster with each new iteration. It’s a trust me bro, eventually they will become intelligent, investment. So far it’s not going well.

Hulu built their entire system on this scam. Before Hulu, the majority of TV shows were available on their channel website for free, with ads. Hulu took this and added a subscription on top of the ads.
