- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - November 2024 1 month ago:
Like most Ys games, they’re a trudge at first, and some graphical letdown, but they’re still great stories with great characters. I remind myself to power through the beginning each Ys game and eventually find myself loving it.

Ys X Nordics. Tons of fun.

Ys X: Nordics you cowards!!!
- Comment on This modder-turned-developer shows how you can triple FPS when properly porting a PC game from consoles 2 months ago:
I played through a prior game where the same port developer had added local co-op. It was incredibly fun to play together.
Support this. This port developer is the best amd their efforts should be supported. The PC versions also look and play better, amd play well on Steam Deck. This is the best way to play these recent Ys games.

Disgusting. I have never and will never use my phone or a gaming console in the bathroom. I go to the bathroom, and then fucking leave. I’ll never understand sitting there forever.

Context doesn’t help much with Kojima.

Interesting. My Steam remote playing from my PC through my house is excellent. I do it to my Steam Link, I used to do it to my phone, and now I also do it to my Steam Deck.
It’s the Playstation-made remote play apps that suck on my PC or my phone.

Shit yeah, no wishlisting, no ignoring, no gifting. Its pathetic.
At least the original PS3 store was decent for its time, but they ruined that.

Playstation Remote Play is garbage no matter the location or setup. I’ve tried many over many years in multiple houses. Sony is horrible at this.
Chiaki for Steam Deck/PC and PSPlay app for Android are insanely better quality for remote playing Playstation.

Sales on PSN are appalling compared to Steam as well. Plus you can also get Steam sales on other sites like Fanatical.
Steam also has better remote play, and Steam custom controller profiles with nearly any controller are amazing.
Also nearly no backwards compatibility issues, whereas PS5 will only play/stream limited games from the past.
- Comment on Steam Families is here 3 months ago:
Cool. Well that is certainly a step forward. Thanks.
- Comment on Steam Families is here 3 months ago:
Have they solved the issue that multiple people can’t be playing at the same time, or the same game at the same time?
I don’t even do families. One of us just goes into offline mode for the time. Slightly obnoxious.

- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 publishing director says "almost all games should cost more at a base level" because they cost so much to make 3 months ago:
Definitely. I go back to older games all the time for similar reasons. I also enjoy a linear story that just has a focus and ends eventually.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 publishing director says "almost all games should cost more at a base level" because they cost so much to make 3 months ago:
Make cheaper games. Nobody is forcing yiu to make games that have too much content and take 600 hours to complete.
It’s like how movies aren’t 1.5 hours anymore. They’re always 3 hour bloated nonsense that overstay their welcome. Make it cheaper by telling a better shorter story with less. More isn’t better.

Why not 3 screens and a rear touchpad and a mic for blowing into and a camera attachment and a detachable keyboard and detachable left and right controls and a side crank and proprietary memory cards with their own screen and…

They’re gonna make a Black Myth 2? We’ll shit, I can skip the first one.
Alternatively…
What if they might make a Steam Deck 3? Better skip the 2nd one as well.
- Comment on Recommendations for games to listen to audiobooks to? 4 months ago:
I do this with massive open Ubisoft worlds like Ghost Recon and Far Cry. In-between missions and story stuff is far too much crap to clear out and do, if you like covering every square inch.
- Comment on The music control Decky plugin (and possibly some other plugins) is causing Steam OS to not load properly and should be uninstalled. 4 months ago:
Just turn off Decky Recorder before shutting down, restarting, or switching to desktop mode. Works for me every time.

The Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Always wanted to play it and it’s awesome on the Deck. Only took a little bit of tinkering.

Even with native support, some games have idiotic controls and no remapping. Steams custom controller profiles give me a chance to remedy this.
- Comment on Leak suggests a Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date exactly 20 years after the original 6 months ago:
Game looks amazing, but the faces for characters just seem wrong. I can’t explain it, but they feel like impostors made by a fan remake in unreal engine.

Do they feel attacked or something?
- Comment on Do you still use your Steam Deck much? 6 months ago:
Got the original not long after launch. Upgraded to OLED right around when it launched. I have some times when I don’t play it, but not often. Recently I have even been playing some RTS games since I got the controls working fairly effectively.
Many games I used to play on my Playstation I am now instead playing them natively on Deck. It’s comfortable. I love handhelds.
