- Comment on Steam Deck OLED 32GB RAM Upgrade 1 week ago:
I have one coming, I don’t think the area is that much smaller. The screen resolution being non native 720 bugs most people.
I’m excited because I just bought a broken-screen steam deck, so even with the high-ish cost ($130 ish for the etched version), I’ll still come out at the end with a premium deck experience for less than base model deck 🤷♂️
- Comment on Replacing the Delta fan IS VERY worth it 2 weeks ago:
Thanks for the tips! I’m not gonna attempt it till I’m back home Sunday or Monday night
- Comment on Replacing the Delta fan IS VERY worth it 2 weeks ago:
I didn’t think the Delta fan was that bad. I honestly never thought about it. But then one day it died. I replaced it with a huaying, and the difference is definitely noticeable. It was a pleasant surprise, even though I usually game with headphones anyway 🤷♂️
- Comment on Replacing the Delta fan IS VERY worth it 2 weeks ago:
I bought a broken steam deck to fix for cheap. Needs a screen, left bumper, and theoretically a joystick, though the joystick seems fine to me.
Halfway through the process I realized the previous owner left half an SD card in the slot. Crazy. Haven’t had time to attempt removing it yet. Hopefully the slot is ok.

Small point, just for the sake of discussion, since you seem knowledgeable and I’m sure you already know:
Upgrading your storage doesn’t strictly require starting over. When I went from 512 to 2tb, I just cloned the drive, then expanded the main partition to fit. Worked like a charm 👌
For most people though yeah it’s probably easier starting over than fussing with cloning.
I’ll be cloning my buddy’s 64gb drive as soon as he buys something bigger.

Let me know!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
That makes sense, definitely weirdness. Funny it didn’t bother it the other way around, the other deck is fine 🤔
At any rate, I’m done worrying about it haha

Thanks for the write-up!
I might try bazzite at a later date, but for now, Max_P suggested deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting, and that’s solved my problem for now, thankfully!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
Not sure if this will solve your problems as well, crackling sounds like hardware to me. But Max_P suggested deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting, that fixed it!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
I wasn’t sure how to do that, but it’s fixed just now.
Max_P suggested deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting, that did the trick!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
Thanks! Funny enough, that was my first assumption,I was worried I ruined something. But taking it apart everything looked fine.
In the end Max_P gave me the solution, deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting. Worked like a charm!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
I did those steps to no avail, unfortunately.
However, deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting did the trick!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
This was the solution, deleting the pipewire and wireplumber folders and restarting was the solution.
To be clear though, I definitely swapped from one LCD model to another, so I’m still not sure why it was failing 🤷♂️
Glad it’s fixed though!

Ok thanks I’ll check it out tonight. That menu definitely already looks different than what I was seeing, from my memory anyway
- Comment on [Discussion] What are you playing on your Deck? - August 2025 2 weeks ago:
Nice! I bought this but I haven’t played it yet. I’m still playing Rob Scallon’s Fretless, it’s also music based. All the attacks and defenses are tied to the music, it’s hard to explain. It’s a turn based RPG during battles, but it’s also so much more. Highly recommend.
Funny, both games are made by musical YouTubers, but that’s not a diss, it’s a compliment. Games made by real people, with a vision for how they wanted it made.
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
No worries.
Yeah I’ve used Bluetooth before, but the lag is always noticeable for me. I can ignore it on something like HZD or HFW, but I’ve been playing Fretless lately, so musical timing is key.
My wired headphones always stay in the steam case waiting for me, never need charged or fussed with, they just work. Plus I got an old school pair, big drivers that sit in your ear, not in your ear canal, so I can still hear the world around me without needing passthrough or whatever it’s called. The only loss is a little less bass 🤷♂️

Is bazzite that good?
I admit I haven’t looked extremely deeply into it, other than that it’s steamos for things that aren’t steam decks.
There’s gotta be some caveats, otherwise why are people so excited about stock steamos coming to more devices natively?
I’m not against it, honestly I’m considering it, I just wanna be informed

I’m op, not the guy you responded to. But I might try this as well. I wasn’t able to make mine work on desktop mode, but maybe something else is fishy in there. Thanks!
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
Pro audio and back? Ok I don’t remember seeing that specifically.
I did go into desktop mode and fiddle with the audio mixer, turning the speakers and headphones on and off, etc. Never got any sound. But I’ll dig deeper. Maybe this combined with the other person who responded to you, can get me up and running.
Can’t try it till this evening though.
- Comment on [Help] Swapped nvme from old deck into new deck, now headphones don't work 2 weeks ago:
Thanks! But that still involves starting over. Which I guess wouldn’t be so bad. I could move most of my game data and stuff over, I just don’t want to haha

Interesting. Something about swapping ssds around is freaking out the… What… audio driver?
Maybe if I find a solution it can help you too

I love my steam deck. It’s underpowered for modern AAA games, even games a few years old make it sweaty. But dang it if it isn’t efficient, and inexpensive.
You can’t beat the performance in your backpack for $300.
People talk about the other handhelds, and granted I’ve not tried them. But while they may have fancier features and more performance, it’s not THAT much more performance, you’re still hampered. And to get that extra performance, you’re draining your battery. All for at least 2 to 3 times the price.
No shade on anyone who loves their alternate handhelds. But it’s just not worth it to me personally. I’ll stick with my steam deck until version 2, whenever it’s ready, no rush. Because I know it’ll have performance and efficiency. Until then, I’m quite pleased 🤷♂️

If you can’t find an original adapter, I can confirm this one works. Most of the other ones I had laying around wouldn’t work. I had to search for this one. It was only $15 when I got it in January 2025, not sure why it’s $25 now

That’s fair. The box that held all my wiiu stuff was mysteriously missing the pad charger. I think I used a dock before too? At any rate, I didn’t want another charger laying around. I’ve got four 6 foot USBC cables coming out of a pair of chargers under my couch that I use for everything. It only made sense to change it over 🤷♂️
So far it works great. Though I about to not using very often, I’ve got an actual steam deck, and recently got a better laptop, so I primarily use those 🤷♂️
If someone wants to buy it for whatever the going rate of an unmodded wiiu is, I’m game. My ADHD enjoyed the process of modding it, now is back in a box lol

Hey neat! I did the same thing a few months ago! Not sure how to link things on here.
Did you also swap the charger for USB C?
- Comment on GeForce Now finally gets a native app for the Steam Deck, solving what was our biggest complaint with the streaming service on Valve's plucky handheld 2 months ago:
Yeah that seems quite disingenuous for a device that literally popularized a whole new platform for PC gaming, and has spearheaded the efforts of Windows games on Linux, to the point of actually outperforming native installations of many games.
Bad journalism is bad.
