- Comment on Open-source non-profit claims Bambu Lab violated license — move follows cease-and-desist demand on OrcaSlicer fork that restored cloud printing features without using Bambu Connect 1 week ago:
On the other hand, the SFC contends that because bambu_networking is required to run the Bambu Studio, it falls under AGPLv3, which the Bambu Lab’s slicer is licensed under. Bambu Studio itself is a fork of PrusaSlicer, which was also based on Slic3r. The original Slic3r uses AGPLv3, meaning every derivative under it, including Bambu Studio, must use the same license. The fact that bambu_networking is flagged as proprietary breaks the copyleft license and violates several clauses in the license agreement.
So they are crying foul while the code is based on an APL fork of the original which is also AGPL. By making their networking proprietary they are basically making it break the license clause which they should legally honor.

Here I thought not giving accessibility permission, draw over apps permission among others meant I was safe.
Guess, there’s always something on the corner. More infuriating, this was disclosed in February and google has yet to completely fix the issue. I doubt I would be getting a proper fix any time sooner than march at this pace.

Not all banks and website support physical key authentication. Besides, those keys can also be vulnerable. Yubikeys and others were vulnerable to a side channel attack and you had to buy new keys since you cannot patch hardware.
The only saving grace was an Attacker needed physical access to attempt that. But, yes in general can be more secure.
