I had made the original jellyfin Roku app, but once people with actual Roku skills showed up, I kinda just faded out.
Open source for a lot of people is the option to drop in and help when you can, but for maintainers, it can be a huge commitment. I totally get why after almost 8 years, people would be ready for moving on.

Tarkov is a live service game. Which has its own ups and downs. Tarkov has benefits of having some things progress while you are offline. Things happen at the server level while you’re gone.
Not every game needs to be a live service game though or try to use live service features in a single player offline game.
Unless there is a very specific reason in the game mechanics why in game time is 1:1 with real time, it doesn’t make a lot of sense except to be divisive and a discussion point.

Having a kodi box that has all the apps that I would have on roku with a nice ui would be the dream. I’ve never gotten kodi to a point where my wife could install a Hulu app(for example) if she wanted to watch hulu. The YouTube experience was also terrible. Kodi fits my ideals for “open platform” and doesn’t for my “I don’t want to be doing it for my family”
