I wouldn’t assume you’ll hate it. It’s still very gimpy
- Comment on Adobe Deletes Bluesky Posts After Furious Backlash 5 days ago:
Less hate and more super awkward. I learned Photoshop and can do a lot of its functions in my sleep. Many of them are just wildly different in gimp 2 in ways I find very counterintuitive. Shortcut keys are different even in cases I cannot explain the reasoning, etc. In gimp 3, I get a lot less of that. Rather than hitting constant roadblocks where I’m stuck, I just feel slower than when using Photoshop, and that’s a great step forward for me. The UI feels a lot more modern for me in general. You should check it out

Are you on gimp 3 yet? I just tried it out and I think it’s a landside better than 2! Actually like it. Never was a fan of 2.

you wouldn’t say a new horror movie sucks just because it’s about a serial killer holding a family captive in their house and there’s like 50 movies with that premise already, y’know?
Lol perfect classic example of something I would say sucks for the exact reason you named

bland/old fashioned feeling.
Would be described as sucking by many
- Comment on Half-Life 3 is just the hot exclusive Valve needs to propel SteamOS past Windows 1 month ago:
I think it will get made someday but likely will suck and/or be too late for anyone to really care

No, it’s not like that. You keep saying the same thing, and I don’t agree.

Games running on Linux don’t count if compatibility layers are used. Weird opinion. Expect pushback.
- Comment on That didn't last long - the Junk Store for Steam Deck has its Steam page removed 5 months ago:
That’s pretty silly. In your world a website cannot cover things that aren’t specifically defined within its name.
Despite the fact that in this case, most games that people play on Linux actually are running within a compatibility layer. Somehow that should disqualify them all from getting covered on that site.
It’d be easier for you to just say you hate Linux and don’t want to read about it.

- Comment on System76 release COSMIC Alpha 2 6 months ago:
I recently struggled through installing the first alpha on a virtual box setup and unfortunately after all that, the desktop wouldn’t ever load. It seemed to get stuck in a loop trying to initialize the video mode. I may wait until it’s at a beta state to try again because that was a letdown. I’m hopeful this DE is what they’re hoping to achieve eventually! And I understand alphas aren’t going to be stable I just really wanted to play with it!

You really have been hurt by a lot of people obviously, but spreading miserable amounts of cynicism isn’t helping. I know people throw around “you should seek therapy” flippantly but I think it should be a serious consideration for you if you aren’t already doing so

This is a stupid way to think. And you obviously aren’t a good judge of character. You admitted to thinking thieves were honest people

The existence of civilization as we know it depends on this being false.
they were in total disbelief that I didn’t just steal the person’s money and calling me an idiot for it. These were people I would have thought were trustworthy otherwise.
Then you aren’t a good judge of character

That’s messed up. Has that been a common occurrence?
- Comment on The terrible tragedy of a stolen Steam Deck 7 months ago:
It’s really insane that paid help went digging through your shit and stole an expensive item. I do not think that is something people would or could expect.

- Comment on Microsoft Copilot has been banned for use by US House staff members, at least for now 1 year ago:
Imo the human laziness is the issue. Every thread where a lot of people chime in about ai, so many talking about how it’s useless because it’s wrong sometimes. It’s basically like people who use Wikipedia but can’t be bothered to cross reference… Except lazier. They literally expect a machine to be flawless because it seems confident or something?
