- Comment on YouTube will stream the Oscars -- exclusively -- beginning in 2029 | TechCrunch 2 days ago:
Seems just gar enough down the road to be plausible and get both in the news while allowing either party to silently back out from the deal in 2 years once everyone has forgotten about this announcement.

When he called me, the 30-year-old introduced himself by telling me he was using a skillet to heat up green tea, because he doesn’t have a pot or a kettle. (“I think my ex took them when we broke up,” he explained.)
Ngl, i stopped reading after that since i knew everything i needed to know
- Comment on OpenAI reportedly on the hook for $300B Oracle Cloud bill 3 months ago:
If you don’t force your employees to use it, people will start to ask why you are spending so much on something no one at the company asked for or uses. Once you realize that businesses are all about self interest and quarterly profits, it makes much more sense.
- Comment on AI experts return from China stunned: The U.S. grid is so weak, the race may already be over 4 months ago:
To be fair though, pur grid is absolutely ass and held together by electrical tape and broken dreams. Because it turns out apending the 40 years gutting the public sector of everything useful and not doing proper maintainence left the US unable to adapt. I apend a lot of time in Lakewood Ohio, a trendy and high density suburb of Cleveland, and they have had weekly blackouts all year because First Energy (of corruption infamy) has refused to do the necessary upkeep.
Privatizing our utilities was a mistake

12 years ago Skype and team speak were the go to for voice chat for gaming. Once someone comes up with a less shitty platform, everyone will start to migrate again.

- Comment on Canada demands 5% of revenue from Netflix, Spotify, and other streamers 1 year ago:
It’s a balance because most countries don’t want American culture burying their own. Those laws are what has made Canadian musicians so successful over the years. Music is really the only cultural thing that Canada is able to stand up for itself. Forcing broadcasters to dedicate X amount of time to domestic artists is important to prevent American media conglomerates from boxing out small and independent artists.
