Dumb question, but have you ruled out the cable being bad or corrosion in the socket? Dropping to 100 is usually something bad with the cable.
- Comment on How do you monitor your servers? 2 weeks ago:
Nope, your uptime kuma speaks to it directly, and it basically acts as a signal client for you.

Its very finicky to setup, but once you get it working its pretty good. Sometimes needs to be reauthenticated though.

- Comment on What is your self hosted power draw? 2 weeks ago:
NAS sits at 24w idle. Security cams are drawing 19w of poe power, but I suspect there is a bit more being used in total. I have another NUC using probably around 24w max.
I’ll slap some power meters on the switches and main nuc and try get some more accurate numbers.
- Comment on How do you monitor your servers? 3 weeks ago:
Uptime Kuma, only really care if it’s up or not. Got about 30 services monitored, sending notifications to Signal.

Fortunately, Mozilla is incompetent and lacks conviction, so they won’t become anything like OpenAI.

Practise test. I got bored before finishing, but its pretty basic

How dumb do you have to be to need to cheat a drivers test…
- Comment on EU's Top Court Just Made It Impossible to Run a User-Generated Platform Legally 10 months ago:
1 is impossible. You cannot screen every message sent, even screening every post would be a full time 24/7 job (3x full time moderators working in shifts).
The big platforms will run it through a blackbox content moderator system, and lobby to keep fines minimal. Lemmy would be screwed.

Kicking off? It started years ago.

With this devs luck, awww will be co-opted next. Good on them for recognising the mistake and fixing it.

Except that these are AIs trained on the CEOs thoughts, so its a bit of a “We trained him wrong, as a joke” situation.

Spouting braindead hallucinations
So how do you tell the difference?
- Comment on Eric Barone, the guy who can't stop updating Stardew Valley, says the words "I might eventually make a Stardew Valley 2" 1 year ago:
A while back he said he would stop developing Stardew Valley 1.
Either way, if he releases a sequal, instant buy from myself and my partner. He’s learnt our trust, and definitely deserves the money.

The third step is they “sell” it to their cronies for pennies, who profit all the way to the bank.

- Comment on New technology could make fridges cheaper and more eco-friendly 1 year ago:
The numbers I quoted are the wrong direction, but its hard to imagine the reverse being multiple orders of magnitude more efficient, I think that would violate laws of thermodynamics? This is not my area of expertise though.
- Comment on New technology could make fridges cheaper and more eco-friendly 1 year ago:
Happy to hear from anyone with a bit more expertise, but this doesn’t sound very promising
Their energetic efficiency is low, in the range of 0.1% to 1% for conversion of heat into electricity.

Even a 70% improvement doesn’t seem very good. Heatpumps are incredibly efficient, so it would be hard to beat.
- Comment on Tencent's soulless Age of Empires Mobile cash-grab is here to ruin your childhood 2 years ago:
I installed and uninstalled in 60s. It wasnt even close to an Age of Empires game. The cut scenes whenever anything gets built really killed it for me.

Kinda sounds like they have just made their own proprietary lens mount? I’m not a good enough photographer to know if this is a good system or not.

Definitely is a misconception. The video posted by another commentor (Silicon Valley clip) implies spaces is manually pressing space 4-8 times. Which we should all be able to agree is madness :)
