Okay, you define "technology" for us, then. Let's see your brilliant solution.

What about this is clickbait?

From how she describes it in the video, he apparently held the stalker by the arm until police arrived. It doesn't seem like he roughed the guy up or injured him at all. It really seems like Twitch applied the "no touching" rule to the wrong person.

Emiru did a short stream going into additional details about the incident, as well as some other fuck-ups by Twitch staff that weren't mentioned in this article.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_USuIpVAqAw
tl;dw: Emiru calls out Twitch for lying about the situation in their official statements, expresses concern for what sort of response a smaller streamer would've gotten if they were attacked like this, and draws attention to Twitch's lack of security and professionalism. Twitch staffers originally laughed about the situation to Emiru's face, and didn't seem to care until the video went viral. They ran background checks on everybody who signed up for her meet-and-greet event, but the attendees were allowed to bring a plus-one with them, who did NOT have to get background checked. Twitch staff also allowed people to walk around even after their badges couldn't scan properly.
Also, because this isn't anywhere near the first time Emiru has been attacked in public, she points out that she's spent tens of thousands of dollars for her own private security, and wasn't even allowed to bring her preferred bodyguard with her because he's permanently banned from Twitch events due to restraining a stalker during a previous event.
Twitch fucked up big time here.

Anything that is at least tangentially connected to the technology, social media platforms, informational technologies and tech policy.

Loops, the platform, has nothing to do with Meta. Also, that article is over a year old.

- Comment on Hollow Knight Sequel 'Silksong' Crashed Game Stores, as $20 Price Irks Competitors 5 weeks ago:
In the age of $70+ AAA games with additional costs, not everyone celebrated the consumer friendly price. Some independent game developers have expressed concern that their games may not sell as well compared to Silksong and cannot afford to charge less.
Where did this line come from? I see no mention of that quote in any of the links from the /. post, and it doesn't help that the quote doesn't cite a specific developer, either.

I get that it's a neat browser, but I don't understand how people can continue supporting it after such blatant disregard for user agency.

Wait until you hear about the 200 Flock cameras you drove past on the way to work this morning which already ID'd you and reported your movements to all of the 3-letter agencies regardless of whether you were suspected of anything.

Doesn't really matter if it works, as long as it instills the fear that it could.

If you ever visit Google, which 99.9999% of internet users will do at some point, you'll eventually be prompted to install Chrome.
- Comment on Chrome increases its overwhelming market share, now over 70% 1 month ago:
Because 99% of users have never heard of any browsers other than Safari, Edge, Firefox, or Chrome. So they go with what's most familiar to them.
Ask a hundred random people off the street to name 5 browsers; they won't.

"4chan has broken no laws in the United States."
Pump the brakes, council. Are you sure that's how you want to say this? Because we all know that isn't 100% factual, at least not without some very significant qualifying criteria.
- Comment on CrowdStrike’s faulty update crashed 8.5 million Windows devices, says Microsoft 1 year ago:
So, those numbers all account for about 54,000 of the 8.5 million devices. Using fairly generous of rounding, that still leaves approximately 8.5 million more devices.
A million is a lot.
- Comment on Helldivers 2 players rally around an unlikely hero who just wanted to make friends 1 year ago:
Yeah, the HD2 community has generally been pretty awesome. I've got something like 270 hours logged at this point, almost exclusively with randoms through quickplay, and I think I've only had like 5 people who were truly trying to grief anybody else in that time. There's a good handful of people who overreact to getting TK'd, but generally people take it in stride.
It was a bit worse shortly after release, though I think that was largely due to people not really "getting" what the game was yet (things like kicking people before extract to "steal" their samples, etc). Now that people have a general understanding of how the game works and what to expect when playing, there seems to be a lot less hostility overall, at least in the lobbies I've been playing in.

- Comment on Helldivers 2 Players Express Frustration On Steam As It Will Soon Require A PSN Account 1 year ago:
The reason is that Sony wants more data. There's no technical reason for it, as the game has already worked fine without it for months. This is just Sony clamping down on a promise they quietly made and that most people forgot about.
As for the extra hoops, if you're still wanting to play the game and don't already have a PSN account, you'll need to make a free one and link it. It shouldn't require any additional logins after the initial link, so after the initial account setup there shouldn't be any additional change to the process of logging in and playing.
