Makes sense. Glad they’re just being honest and setting realistic expectations.

Because he is using it in a limited capacity which is fine

If you think switching from handheld to dock and back is the same experience with switch and deck then you haven’t tried both.

What kind of patronizing bullshit is this? I talked about the steamdeck dock like 2 comments ago. Of course I know what a hub is.

A switch doesn’t need you to unplug anything. Drop it in, take it out. 3s of interruption. I love my deck and never use my switch but even I get the appeal.

What? Switch users constantly swap between handheld and docked. That’s one the major draws. The steam deck simply can’t do that seamlessly.

I own both a switch and deck and have used them for years. They simply aren’t the same re: usability.

Disagreement is not ignoring and if you’re going to continue to be so disrespectful/dismissive I don’t really want to continue this conversation

Ok but we aren’t comparing any consoles, we are comparing a switch and steamdeck. They are very different experiences so comparing game libraries is only a smart part of the equation.
I’m not saying it’s worthless, but this is truly apples and oranges. At best you’re going to determine whether you want an apple or an orange. But saying one is “better” is kind of difficult.

I’m not saying it isn’t impressive, I’m just not really sure comparing the two makes a lot of sense. Yeah they’re both handheld devices that use docks to go onto your TV/monitor, but the experiences are wildly different, as anyone who owns both can attest to.

Yeah really it’s about the 20-30 games you’re most interested in over time.

I think if you’re buying a switch in 2024 then a steam deck is not really for you. I love my deck but there’s no denying it’s a bit janky at times, especially if you jump between desktop and gaming mode a lot. It’s not a frictionless system like the switch which is much more set it and forget it (minus the atrocious digital store experience).

Sell me on Tonight we Riot because that name alone has me interested lol

I mean is it really a fair comparison? I say this as someone who enjoys his deck way more than his dusty switch lol
