you can run the installer again to either redownload the latest stable or their beta version, which moght fix your issue, you can also uninstall decky this way, should the issues persist.
- Comment on DF Direct Weekly #240: Steam Machine - Pricing, Specs, VRAM, ARM Ambitions + More 1 week ago:
because thats seemingly the upper bound l.
i’d expect something a bit more expensive than the quest 3, which currently costs 550€ with controllers, because i don’t think valve will sell at cost, but with a slim margin.
- Comment on DF Direct Weekly #240: Steam Machine - Pricing, Specs, VRAM, ARM Ambitions + More 2 weeks ago:
just speculation.
only things valve employees said about prices is:
- they are targetting a lower price for the frame than the index (index was 1000$ afaik)
- the machine will be priced as a pc and not as a console (whatever that means)
- prices will be announced closer to launch.
- Comment on [Discussion] Should this community also cover the Steam Machine and/or Steam Frame? 2 weeks ago:
i feel like most steam deck and steam machines discussions will have so much overlap, that it won’t matter.
Steam Frame might be more specialised and a dedicated community could be helpful, but i doubt it will produce thaaat much noise and a seperate community might be pretty barren, just because VR is afterall still very niche.
tl;dr: dont see why we should split communities, if something is specific to frame/machine/deck we can specify that in a posts title.
- Comment on [Discussion] What Games are you playing on your Deck? - June 2025 5 months ago:
currently trying the gamepad bindings, but i am not a fan of the auto aim that comes with, so i’ll probably switch to using keyboard bindings and use the trackpad for aiming spells and a mouse region bind on the left stick for walking.
had a similar setup with the steam controller before my old laptop decided to die on me.

- Brotato
- Diablo 1 via devilutionx, i do a run through of normal difficulty atleast once a year
- tainted grail fall of avalon, don’t get how this is verified, fps often dips into low 20s. game itself seems fun though
- will probably start clair obscur.
yes, i totally abandoned playing soul reaver, because i kept playing other games :D
- Comment on We Can Now Easily Play Minecraft Splitscreen On The Steam Deck Thanks to a New Script 7 months ago:
the script makes various assumptions about the system ranging from
/home/deck is the users home dir, to kde plasma is the used desktop environment or can be launched from gamemode.
so probably not without tweaks ;)

put path of exile 2 on hold for a while, found it suprisingly playable until i’ve started doing the delirium and breach endgame-mechanics in high tier maps. might try to atleast defeat the citadel bosses and the boss that grants me entrance to before 0.2.0 hits, but probably not.
actually started playing the soul reaver remake, and thats still a great game, but a lemmy thread mentioned pokemon unbound which lead me to replaying that, so soul reaver might have to wait a bit longer :D
- Comment on Is there a reliable low profile stand/dock? 10 months ago:
i have a 7 in 1 usb c hub from anker which is use with the deck and a hdmi monitor the deck lies flat on the table if i use the hub.
I don’t know if it’s more or less toxic than the dota2 games.
- Comment on Steam deck LAN? And game suggestions? 10 months ago:
bring your decks into the same WLAN-network to play games that don’t rely on online servers.
a possible game could be “Alien Swarm: reactive drop”, a so called twin stick shooter , the top down perspective helps too keep your orientation and the stressful sequences are often telegraphed.
“towerfall ascension” is a 2d action game that can be played in coop, which is easy to pickup (but it does get difficult)
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - January 2025 10 months ago:
played through it on release, act 1 and act 2 were fine, occasional dips below 30fps.
act 3 had a lot off texture pop in and walls that would only appear after some seconds, but the game received performance patches after i finished it, so probably better now.
- Comment on [Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - January 2025 10 months ago:
vulkan renderer, everything on low, fsr, no dynamic resolution.
i am playing a grenade throwing merc, framerate was mostly stable @ 30fps but i can see how a summoner build or some of thos crazy walking firework simulators people turn there chars into might be to much for the deck.
higher tier maps might also be tough as they contain more rare monster, with more effects, but i don’t know how many people even interact with that kind of content, iam certainly far away from it playing without trading.

parh of exile 2, campaign and maps up to tier 5 ran fine so far :)
also bought the soul reaver remake, but path of exile 2 ran fine so far…
- Comment on Steering wheel controls? 11 months ago:
the gyro can be set to “joystick” and “as joystick” one of those allows you to limit the gyro to rotation around an axis, that should give you what you want.
- Comment on Steering wheel controls? 11 months ago:
you can at the very least map analog sticks to the decks gyro, i played one of the Dirt games like that. Should be great for arcade style games like sonic all stars racing or mario kart.
- Comment on Here's the most played Steam Deck games for October 2024 1 year ago:
seems like its playable.
- Comment on Random Crashes 1 year ago:
Definitely not normal.
I’ve got mine for 2 years now and could probably still count crashes like that on one hand. so if you are sure it’s not a faulty sd card or something like that causing this i’d send it back.
- Comment on What have you been playing lately? 1 year ago:
Mega Man X, basically finished am just to stupid for Sigma.
Pokemon Unbound, a Romhack for Pokémon Fire Red, probably my favourite Pokémon game. Enemy Trainers are way better than they were in the official games so some fights actually require thinking.
Elden Ring, started a new play through for the dlc, have not entered the new area yet, but my last play through is more than a year past and i’ve forgotten way more stuff than i thought so even the old areas feel pretty fresh again. and while i still love the game, but damn it fromsoftware quests should be more than bumping into an npc in random locations where they have some cryptic thing to say and then bumping into them again later for more cryptic stuff.
