- Comment on Steam Linux Runtime 4.0 released 1 week ago:
Apart from what others already replied, a native game can run on SLR.
If it is being run without SLR, that would mean that you are using your distro’s system libraries, which you would find in places like
/liband/usr/lib.
If it is being run on SLR, then it is using the libraries that Steam downloaded in the location the SLR is installed. - Comment on Steam Deck gets a new low-power screen-off downloads mode 3 weeks ago:
This feels weird to know^[I don’t have a Steam deck] and hard to understand.
- Steam OS is based on KDE, which, while originally made for PCs, lets all network activity work, with the screen off. You can even set a shortcut key to turn off the screen, which will then turn back on, if you move the mouse or press a keyboard key.
- Steam on Desktop lets you work with the screen off.
- ???
- Steam’s mode made for a device that has to tax the battery to keep the screen on, then goes ahead and removes the ability.

- Comment on Sony reportedly looking to acquire Kadokawa, owner of ELDEN RING dev FromSoftware 1 year ago:
So could it be that FromSoftware is considering selling out and working to increase their stock prices, to get a better deal?
- Comment on Sony reportedly looking to acquire Kadokawa, owner of ELDEN RING dev FromSoftware 1 year ago:
Sony seems to have a pretty workable strategy now.
- Want to acquire a company for cheaper.
- Make news that they are going to acquire.
- Target company’s sales plummet, because gamers don’t want Sony DRM
- Cheap company to buy.
So unless FromSoftware releases a statement claiming they won’t be bought by Sony, I’m not buying any more of their stuff.
