And you seem very angry.
It makes it hard to engage with what you’re saying because which post do I even reply to? But sure, do whatever.

You seem VERY invested in this. You know you can edit posts and add stuff that occurs to you after you posted, yeah?

Not exactly what the snotty kid I’m thinking of is thinking of :)

Yeah, I didn’t even think past the aesthetics because the concept is so ludicrous. Reminds me of how every once in a while a snotty kiddo who just made their first Hello World will come up with the ultimate gaming idea to combine ALL THE GAMES into one so you can seamlessly walk between them.

So. Like. Run around as V in World of Warcraft? That doesn’t sound like anything I’d want. And the images in the article aren’t helping.

Dang, there goes all that goodwill.

I don’t even understand what it is they supposedly did. How does a link deceive people into thinking it’s a video? And why would that artificially increase its reach? And isn’t the point of paying for ads to have a specific predetermined reach and for that reach to be independent of user interaction? I’m so confused.

It’s also a symptom of disregard for customers. Instead of just redoing the shot, this time making sure that it’s set to 100%, they just went “eh, nobody will notice”. It’s insulting.

Man… Imagine being that person who late one Friday night, while their peers were out getting shitfaced and smashing bits together, was shitposting (on /b/ most likely), decided to open Photoshop (other image editing software is available), and spent 5 minutes putting a third Spider-Man in that one screencap from the animated series. Little did they know their brain fart would reach canon status and be used as header picture for news articles, even decades later. What must that be like? Where are they now? Do they know of their immeasurable impact on modern culture?

Am I wrong though?

That’s frequently the best satire though where you can do exactly that.

Word of caution: an entire NAS may be a bit of overkill if it’s JUST to get pictures from one device to another. Also consider that, if you get a small, cheap one, you may be tempted to tinker around with what else it can do - which will quickly become frustrating (“If only I had invested a LITTLE more, look at all the shiny fancy things I could do with it!”). Yes, I speak from experience (Synology DS 720+).

The only thing I like about YT shorts is that there are no ads. Otherwise I don’t get what’s so great about them.

Because those are just such very beloved features on other platforms, right? /s
