- Comment on 99% of My Website Traffic Is Bots | PatronView 1 week ago:
I work on an ecomm site and it’s nightmarish. We have all the cloudflare protections turned on but do try to tune out system so american AI companies will scrape us (we want chatgpt to send us customers and use our data).
Still, we have a country allow list because it’s easier to admit North American traffic and the specific IPs our contractors use, then block everyone else. The amount of bot traffic flooding in globally is insane. I don’t think the current day internet infrastructure is going to be able to absorb the abuse much longer.

“We thought some free blood money from the world’s richest ghouls sounded great, but it turns out they want your blood and your money after that, so we’d rather keep both and not ruin our business chasing gambling winnings for ghouls.”
Well at least they eventually figured it out. If only the entire rest of the American economy would catch on.

I believe the joke goes something like: what’s the difference between an electrician and a chemist?
How they pronounce unionized.

A fun and unique RTS, really trying to break the StarCraft\C&C\TA mold and do some unique things. I don’t know about the MP strategy or macro, but the morphing units and the perimeter itself plus energy management make for pretty good gimmicks and a decently fun SP campaign.

Is this another Disco Elysium situation? I really like Unknown World’s and their games. This is a real letdown; guess Natural Selection 3 or any new titles won’t be announced any time soon.
- Comment on Enter the Dungeon 2 gets a reveal almost a decade on from the first one, looks like more of the same, but in 3D 1 year ago:
Managed to auto-typo the URL and the article title, how embarrassing.
- Comment on Diablo speedrunners searched 2.2 billion random dungeon seeds to debunk a two-decade old speedrun record 1 year ago:
Wow, unreal to think a 20 year old cheater ruined a whole category of runs! I feel like if the community can’t come close to replicating a run, they should just automatically be removed as sus. Imagine screaming about how obviously fake this run is for 20 years until someone finally proves it?
Also, tangent, I read the linked Diablo 4 review and i don’t think a review has ever so tightly captured my sentiments towards AAA games and movies. The idea that a thing can be polished, well made, basically without flaw, but still be deeply uninspiring. These media projects are spectacle and addiction but where’s the fun, the challenge, and the spark?
