- Comment on X's new 'encrypted' XChat feature seems no more secure than the failure that came before it 3 weeks ago:
I guess that’s a fair point. Ultimately, I’m not interested in caring that much about whether or not a platform can read my messages. I just don’t want them to be able to be accessible if there’s a data breach. I would never use these platforms’ private messages for anything that is remotely sensitive but it’s generally a good idea to keep messages away from data breaches as much as possible.
- Comment on X's new 'encrypted' XChat feature seems no more secure than the failure that came before it 3 weeks ago:
I think people are missing the way this is actually a win. Obviously, nobody should be using it as their primary communication, just as nobody should be using FB Messenger as their primary communication. However, just like when Messenger added E2EE, having encrypted DMs on X is just smart. Less of a burden on a company in the event of data breaches and likewise less of a concern for individuals. It also means that normies have a slightly reduced risk of leaks.
Again, obviously no one SHOULD be using X for private conversation but having any form of E2EE on DMs is a win in my book.
- Comment on Texas governor signs online safety law in blow to Apple and Google 4 weeks ago:
I’m very conservative and support legislation to keep kids far away from porn and other dangers, but I don’t care for the idea of forcing people to turn over their ID just to download general use apps and services.

Anything but promoting homeschooling or arming teachers, amirite?
- Comment on Bluesky Blocked in Turkey - Here's Why 2 months ago:
Yeah? Good. Bluesky’s community is atrocious. Nostr and the Fediverse are better and far more resistant to censorship anyway.

I already don’t use Discord too much, and if they push this, I’m done with it completely.
- Comment on Meet Neptune, a TikTok alternative where creators can hide likes and follower counts | TechCrunch 2 months ago:
I cannot be paid enough to use or support TikTok or anything like it. A major source of all the issues society is facing today.
- Comment on Steam deck OLED 1TB or Asus ROG Ally X with Bazzite? 2 months ago:
I haven’t used an Ally and I love Steam but objectively, I’d recommend the Deck. Phenomenal ergonomics, amazing software (Bazzite is good but doesn’t compare), good build quality, right-to-repair friendly, Valve is an American business (not important to everyone but it is to me) and you’d be supporting a company that has done nothing but make PC gaming amazing.
- Comment on Should I say fuck it and buy a steam deck now? Before all the tariffs hit. 2 months ago:
I encourage getting one with or without tariffs. 100% worth the money. I also don’t think they’re going to go up in price, particularly not with Valve. I’m fairly certain people are massively overreacting to the tariff thing.
- Comment on Instagram Is Full Of Openly Available AI-Generated Child Abuse Content. 2 months ago:
There’s obviously a serious pedo problem in nations’ governments across the world because that’s really the only explanation for the continued existence of such a thing.
- Comment on Birth control: US scientists develop world’s 1st male contraceptive pill 2 months ago:
Just about the LAST thing this world needs. Bad enough we have loads of spineless men already, and female birth control pills are ruining women as it is.
- Comment on Instagram Is Full Of Openly Available AI-Generated Child Abuse Content. 2 months ago:
Unencrypted platforms like FB, Insta and Discord are said to be full of CSAM and nobody does anything about it, yet E2EE chat apps like Signal are the “problem” and governments “need” a backdoor to those. Just sad.
There have also been reports of idiotic wannabe influencer parents who sell risqué images of their daughters on Instagram, which is massively disturbing.

I wish they’d just let TikTok die. Literally worthless platform.

Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom is a great one. Colorful, fun, complex enough that he can grow with but simplistic enough for him to have fun without constantly needing help.
- Comment on Show off your Steam Deck's home screen! 2 months ago:
Awesome, thanks for the tips! Just have to figure out a way to transfer the screenshots to my PC though, as I only sign in to gaming accounts on my Deck.

How do you get these screenshots? I’d show mine but have no idea how to capture the game mode UI.
- Comment on In Warning Sign for Hollywood, Younger Consumers Are Choosing Creator Content Over Premium TV and Movies 2 months ago:
I don’t care for Hollywood in the least but this isn’t a positive development. Influencer culture really needs to die. I’d much rather see people switch to markets like anime and K-drama, as both of those are largely still packed to the brim with good art.
