- Comment on Milei’s proposal to allow ‘non-human corporations’ run by AI causes concern in Argentina 12 hours ago:
That’s pretty much the only value add ai has at this point, putting another layer of obfuscation on responsibility.
- Comment on Game Consoles Are Pricing Themselves Out of Relevance 2 weeks ago:
Yeah I feel like console manufacturers are stuck with the bill on this one. It would probably be best for everyone if all of the manufacturers decided to skip a generation and just stick it out with what they’ve got currently for an extra five years or so, it’s not like, the graphics are going to get appreciably better if they update anyway.

For real, they should have either bought or cloned VRChat as a first step, and then looked into expanding from there. That shit is a metaverse that people willing go into primarily because it enables a ton of free expression.
- Comment on Microsoft's decision to axe Windows 10 is driving Apple PC sales growth — users buy Macs instead of AI PCs despite Microsoft’s push for Copilot+ PCs 7 months ago:
[gaming laptops]'re desktop replacements and they’re just worse than a desktop in every way and cost more
Learned this the hard way when I was nineteen. Had a fat ass Alienware, top of the line everything, played Crysis, lasted about one day past the warranty and promptly died.
About four years ago I bought a laptop for work, an old Thinkpad. It was used when I got it and it’s still kicking. Runs a web browser just fine (and stuff like PuTTy and Teams) and can hang with indie games.
The only reason I would consider buying a laptop that’s more than a web browser/video streaming machine now is if I really needed to be able to use it as a tablet for art and stuff.

- Comment on PlayStation 5 Digital Edition with 1TB SSD downgraded to 825GB listed at the same price — CFI-2116 revision emerges overseas on Amazon 8 months ago:
FTA
The original PlayStation 5, colloquially referred to now as the PlayStation 5 Fat, was equipped with 825GB of internal storage, of which approximately 650GB was accessible to the user, depending on system updates and other variables. The shift to the PlayStation 5 Slim introduced numerous enhancements, including an increase to 1TB of storage, providing the user with approximately 850GB of available space (subject to similar factors).
The CFI-2116 revision, also known as “Chassis E,” marks the return of the 825GB SSD, which Sony advertises on the new packaging. Consumers are losing close to 200GB, or 24%, of usable, high-speed storage with the latest revision. You could argue that 200GB isn’t a lot, and that’s true in a way since some AAA titles — specifically, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War — are pushing over 300GB of installed size. But under normal circumstances, 200GB should be enough for one or two games.
Seems like Sony has a bunch of 825GB hard drives sitting around to me.

Fuck Visa but I’m 99% sure it’s a law (or a reinterpretation/expansion of an existing law) making them do this, it just doesn’t make sense otherwise.
