YouTube recommended me Why I’m Skeptical of the Photon Matrix Indiegogo, which is also interesting. It’s an appealing idea and no doubt will continue to get better as technology improves but, for now, I too am skeptical.

With practices like this, it’s only a matter of time until there are significant adverse impacts.
The equivalent to this research in the virology field would be doing gain of function research to enhance contagion to humans and other common food animals in open petri dishes on a table in the wet market. And this was the ‘good guys’: government working diligently in the public interest, one would hope and expect, though the evidence suggests otherwise.

Yes, but...
Making social media fake is the intention. It's not a failure.
The failure is that the fraud is noticed: the bots and LLMs are not yet good enough to be undetectable.
The fraud will be perfected when LLMs can be fake without feeling fake. At least until the fraudsters have achieved their objectives. After that, will they care how their victims feel? I guess not.
