The market has also grown exponentially, they don’t need to raise prices to get the same profit. Games are already very expensive and the economy is only going to get worse, raising the price will ensure only exceptional games make a profit (or games that don’t follow the stupid increase). Not to mention new forms of piracy means they’re competing against a price point of $0.
