Opportunity cost. Better to get the most valuable stuff you can rather than something just because it was one of yours.
EVE is peak capitalism and warfare. Best represented by the Caldari state - which is a nation of mega corporations.
I guess it might be interesting for orgs (I’m not sure that’s how those are named in EVE lingo). Instead of just gathering ISK to fuel your war, an org could also have a Vanguard branch that would focus on reclaiming parts of the fallen ships in order to lower the costs of running a war

I mean, I would expect such reclaimed stuff to be cheaper. Or the seller to be able to set the price, which in orgs could be defined from the top (peak capitalism)
Why sell to an orgs defined price if it’s worse for me than the open market?
If the price is better then I will just buy shitloads of it from the open market and sell it to them without having to work for it in the first place.
Because then it wouldn’t count as you helping with the war
I don’t play EVE. But guessing from other MMOs, for those interested in being in a group often the point is more about taking a part in the group effort than pure in-game gain

They had cross game interactions with Dust 514 and it didn’t amount too much. For most fights the value of the dropped modules is going to be so insignificant as to not really matter as you’d likely get a better return on your time doing sites or mining. Unless they’re talking higher rates of T2 salvage but unless they remove that from sites then it’ll just crash the market.
My hope is they don’t introduce some new components that are needed for current production that are tied to Vanguard loot like they did for planetary interactions.
