Seriously, why would they make that trade? Brown is, arguably, the best player on the team (and until Tatum fully recovers, there is no argument). The only reason to dump him for picks is if the team is going for a radical rebuild, except they signed Robinson to a fairly big deal.
I assume the owners do not want to pay for two max contracts. If they don’t want to pay, they are not going to be able to seriously compete.
Or maybe Brown told the team he wanted out and this is the best offer they could find.
Was a bit of a head scratcher, I was reading Brown was irked he was included in Gianni’s potential talks, which is understandable as he’s carried the team during significant portions of Tatum’s absences. Bos definitely throwing in the towel on this core.
Still don’t know who legit contenders are in the east after this, NYK and Philadelphia? Mia is too empty to do anything even with Gianni’s unless they decide to seriously invest in this window, which TBF they are good about.
The Pacers? They tanked last year but are bringing back most of the roster that made the finals in 2025.
