Comment on US cloud 'kill switch' is as dangerous as ransomware, European businesses fear
stoy@lemmy.zip 1 week agoDoesn’t change the fact that any cloud company has the access to access or close customer’s accounts at will, and with the US legal system, the government can and do order companies to do shady stuff.
The entire shift from on-prem to the cloud where the only real alternatives are companies in the US is absolutely insane.

Trusting the usa is obviously as silly as trusting any company that emulates US ‘morals’
If companies want privacy they need to consider taking a step back to on-site storage.
If customers want privacy, they might be shit out of luck.
