It’s not even consistent over different frames. You can see in videos that colors shift for seemingly no reason. I’d wager for frame-perfect cutscenes and all that the output would be the same for all users, but I haven’t seen proof of it.

The biggest question I have about it is whether it’s consistent or not. Will each player get their own different ai filter over the top, or did they somehow “bake it on” so it’s always the same result?

See that last bit is what I wonder though. If you run the same prompt through ai it’ll give you a different result every time. Not to mention since it’s a game the input will be changing constantly per player…

Those different results by LLMs are due to a randomness setting they specifically add. When you control it yourself you can remove it and always get the same output for the same input.
Of course, the different video game frames are all new inputs every time. They will probably have tried to get consistent results but I doubt it will work perfectly all the time.

Yeah that last part is what I’m getting at. You explained it much better though! 🙂

Yeah, it depends. The simpler neural networks don’t necessarily give you different results, and since it runs in real time I thought it would be, but reading further I guess I was way off lmao

In single player games with a handful or two of main characters, they can do it bespoke for each one or at least the biggest ones.
But a sports game like this?
It’s gonna be the same thing for 99% of the players, the same default filter. Maybe they’ll tweak it for superstars, but maybe not.
