A few things to try:

• You can disable steam input for the game from the game’s steam menu. You might be having some kind of clash between steam input managing the controllers and the game trying to read the controllers directly

• Another possibility is that I think the pro 2 has different input modes (switch, xinput, apple, etc). It could be that the controller mode is something supported by steamOS, but not the game’s direct controller support.
