I've got so much on my feed every day now, I don't feel like I need the fediverse to grow to continue enjoying it one the mastodon/pleroma/friendica side.

Yes there are options in fediverse for their replacement but in comparison to the text side of fediverse, it's not great which has multiple completing implementations and help every software grow in their own unique image.

It’s just a matter of getting people here. The text side of the #Fediverse was far quieter before #Gab joined it, for example

There's a reason I limited what I said to just mastodon/pleroma/soapbox. That part is fine, but you're absolutely right that video is lacking, and even lemmy/lotide really needs more people to really hit a critical mass and take off (it doesn't help that the main lemmy instances really aren't welcoming to anyone except a very narrow subsection of people)
