Comment on India Banned TikTok, It Didn’t Go Well
BrikoX@lemmy.zip 7 months agoBy their own admission, they need TikTok:
- German politician takes to TikTok to compete with far-right AfD
- German government needs TikTok, Scholz says, as AfD surges in polls
And is it even being brought to the full parliament? The article only mentioned intelligence committee.
Most weren’t in favor of shit like the north stream pipeline, they didn’t veto it however.
Bad comparison. Unlike with banning TikTok, which would piss off a big part of EU population and give nothing in return, the pipeline offered cheaper energy prices, which all countries could take a political win on, despite the many valid concerns it had.

Yes Scholz is a idiot, i know. He either is gone for solid months or when he is somewhere he talks shit.
AFD literally uses that shit as propaganda Mashine. Wich it is. And baning it for security reasons would fuck off some addicts but it wouldn’t be a problem, as seen in the enormous protests regarding the “new” (illigal) copyright legislation (article 13) they don’t give a single shit about what some people think or say. And nobody would go protest for tiktok.
And yes, the comparison was not perfect, but its a better known example, France for example was very much against it until Germany agreed to label nuclear as green energy.
