what are VC ghouls?
Comment on Jack Dorsey says he’s no longer on the Bluesky board
BrikoX@lemmy.zip 7 months agoLately, it’s harder and harder to see a difference between Mastodon and Bluesky, as both are full of VC ghouls now.

I tried saying that on the thread about mastodon announcing they were making a non profit and I got mass down voted

Knowing what we know now that some Mastodon instances will get paid by Meta for federating with Threads, is it that surprising?

So where do we go to now?
BrikoX@lemmy.zip 7 months ago
gotosocial.org is the most popular alternative, but they are still in alpha stage. I’m open to see and wait how things turn out, but the moves Mastodon is making are not encouraging so far.
TheWolfOfSouthEnd@lemmygrad.ml 7 months ago
It’s …interesting …cause this seems against Mastodons original principles.
JoMiran@lemmy.ml 7 months ago
I guess that depends on the Mastodon server you are on.
BrikoX@lemmy.zip 7 months ago
I’m on a great instance, but that doesn’t help if the instance uses Mastodon software and not a hard fork.
