Yes, there is still an active 1k players on. You probably wont find anyone on the low or mid level content but when you get to end game there is a lot of people to do the group content with.

Its still 120 ping and feels bad for PvP or interupt/prot
- Comment on [news] [gw1] Guild Wars: Reforged is going to be Steam Deck verified and has support for modern controllers 1 week ago:
My friends are excited and want to do a play through for the first time. I was super hyped but i realised it doesnt add or change anything. I really need AU servers to enjoy the game again. High ping just sucks so badly in gw1.
- Comment on Guild Wars Reforged announced to release in December and will be Steam Deck Verified 2 weeks ago:
This got me so excited because i thought the game was being remastered or reignited. I’m happy they are making steamdeck based improvements because its a great steamdeck mmo. But most of the stuff I already had through gwtoolbox so i appreciate the gesture of support.
- Comment on [Meta] This community has been renamed to Steam Hardware to include the newly annouced Steam Machine and Steam Frame 2 weeks ago:
Yeah but thats on a 720p screen not on a 1080p+ TV. Steamdeck can’t even do darksouls 1 on a 1080p display without being sub 60fps.

Yeah I pray it has a decent experience for modern games and isnt just an indie game box.

Plenty of games require over 16gb when playing modded. Rimworld and cities skylines are two.

Agreed 30% is way to high. 15% is fair and they’d still make a ton of profit.

- Comment on Microsoft dives into the handheld gaming PC wars with the Asus ROG Xbox Ally 5 months ago:
SteamOS has had a good start but its not a headstart. Its still a minority OS in the handheld space. Now that you can get a slick UI with good preformance, 100% software compatibility, im failing to see the advantages that will draw windows users onto steam.
Im a linux users so I place a lot of value in the freedom of the ecosystem but most non linux users dont think about that or care. SteamOS needed this win to convince people to leave the microsoft ecosystem and now microsoft has closed the gap.
- Comment on Microsoft dives into the handheld gaming PC wars with the Asus ROG Xbox Ally 5 months ago:
You are sitting here saying finally a competitive os market but the competition has pretty much just ended.
- Comment on Microsoft dives into the handheld gaming PC wars with the Asus ROG Xbox Ally 5 months ago:
Ah shit Microsoft responded to steamOS. If this this matches or whoops linux in performance its going to make it very hard to convince people to move away from Microsoft.
- Comment on Gemini can now watch Google Drive videos for you 6 months ago:
Awesome now you get to have meetings with people who claim to be up to date but they actually haven’t listened to the meeting.
I can’t wait to have meetings where someone brings up a bunch of things that were addressed in the meeting because they used an ai summary. Or misunderstands the implementation because the ai fucked it up.
This is going to waste so much more time. It will save the person 30mins but waste 30mins of everyone’s time in the future.
- Comment on PartyDeck is a split-screen game launcher for Linux / SteamOS 6 months ago:
Valve needs to employ this man and get him to develop this idea further. It would be such a standout Linux feature that would draw people onto the platform.

If you dont play AAA games the steamdeck will be fine for most things. The touchpads are so useful.

I have two docks. With one of the docks I experience sound coming through the stream deck and no signal. With the other that doesnt happen. So far ive had zero issues with the 2nd dock.

That’s so sick. How much did this cost all up and would it be more economical to buy the parts from scratch instead of using a steamdeck?
