I mean. They just spam the plate with chips. I don’t want to be fat like. Smaller portions should be an option.

I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten fast food place that did t have different sizes of fry but order available.
Zorque@kbin.social 11 months ago
You've never eaten at Five Guys... though I guess that's kind of nebulous in terms of being fast food.
Devi@kbin.social 11 months ago
Five guys have different sizes, it's just that the smallest size is "fuckloads of chips" and then they go up from there.
Zorque@kbin.social 11 months ago
My guy, if you don't want to be fat don't eat fast food.
Eggyhead@kbin.social 11 months ago
Bro.
How about giving people the option to pay less for smaller portions? Is that not allowed for some reason? I’m a small guy, and every restaurant I visit in the west pretty much charges me double and gives me twice as much food as I could possibly handle. It sucks when traveling, because I can’t exactly just take it home.kent_eh@lemmy.ca 11 months ago
I’ve never been to a fast food place that *didn’t * have multiple serving sizes available for their fries.
It’s not hard to order a smaller size if you know you’re not hungry enough for a larger portion.

Why not buy a kiddie meal?
Eggyhead@kbin.social 11 months ago
Well I usually don’t eat at McDonald’s, but I do settle for appetizers more often than I would like to.

Food waste and obesity are problems.
Probably the better solution is more granular serving sizes with corresponding prices. Like pay less to get less.
Zorque@kbin.social 11 months ago
Food waste isn't as big a problem as people seeking to profit off basic necessities like eating.
People don't go hungry because you didn't eat all your fries, they go hungry because it's not "economical" to feed them.
captain_oni@lemmy.world 11 months ago
That’s a good option. I remember having a friend that ordered the kid’s size meal at certain restaurants because she didn’t eat that much.
What I used to do (and I know this isn’t an option for everyone) is that I took the leftovers home with me, or for later, no need to waste perfectly good food.

I’m a big guy and the burger king whopper Jr meal was my go to when I worked near one.
Devi@kbin.social 11 months ago
I do that at pizza places when it's an option. Sometimes a small pizza can be 1500 calories, that's too much. Kids will often be less oil and salt too which I prefer for health and taste reasons.
STRIKINGdebate2@lemmy.world 11 months ago
Yes. These food places expect me to become obese.
Zorque@kbin.social 11 months ago
Or they don't give a shit and chips are cheap to make.
Just don't eat them all, hungry children in India or whatever your mother told you to get you to eat your green beans aren't starving just because you don't eat everything in front of you.
