I've read a lot of various sources on Tiananmen Square, and come to the honest conclusion that the facts will always remain murky- People died, soldiers died, and it's highly likely the CIA was funnelling money in, given how even the student leaders talked about the millions of dollars worth of food and resources coming into the square to keep the protests alive.
