Good luck. They made the gameplay and incentives, and unless they alter both those – and reduce the number of player killers – not much will change.

That’s really easy. Deep Rock Galactic has seasonal rewards but if you miss out all the cosmetics get moved into the already existing mechanics for getting them. It’s easier to play the season and unlock everything, but if I don’t want to I can just keep an eye out for containers and helmets later. Ta-da! No FOMO, no required grind, just rock and stone.
