The cast is released from their contracts and are off working other projects, and have been for a couple of years now. That’s pretty much the end.

Even MacFarlane has been off doing other things. Pre-production on a Naked Gun reboot.
A few other shows in similar situations have come back, so it’s not impossible that it returns.
“Come Back” still means it’s currently dead. :)
Disney is still talking about bringing back Firefly, that doesn’t make it any more alive.
Remember that Seth brought Family Guy back from cancellation, like, three times. He’s not someone you hand wave away when he’s determined to do something.
It came back on the strength of DVD and Blu Ray sales.
The Orville doesn’t have home media in any format people would actually want to watch:
I did some research on this recently for the Wikipedia article, it looks like MacFarlane is the only one who really wants to come back for a new season. He might need a new supporting cast.

I’d be so damned happy if this came back. Until Strange New Worlds, it was the optimistic, bright and generally happy Trek successor I didn’t know I needed.
