    There are open source alternatives:

    • github.com/everywall/ladder
    • github.com/wasi-master/13ft
    • gitflic.ru/project/magnolia1234/magnolia1234 (hosted on .ru site as it was DMCA’d on GitHub/GitLab)

      There is ghostarchive.org, which can store web pages and videos. The downside is that it has a size limit. It also can’t store paywalled pages like archive.is

        The primary purpose of archive.is is to get around paywalls though. That’s the only thing I’ve ever seen it used for.

        Very interesting article, thanks! I had wondered about this. The whole thing sounds pretty mysterious. Who knows, it could be Meta behind the curtains, lol! They’ve been known to resort to piracy to feed their AI.
