They only defend China when it's the West attacking them, but it seems they won't support China on its own merit. China is seemingly merely a backdrop.
They also did a lazy job on debunking, but that's an unrelated grievance.

Do you think them not including Taiwan is some sort of statement? Or they just hada stock graphic of China that didn't include Taiwan and didn't bother to look for one that included the island?

None of that would make it better though.
Like either they don't care enough of they don't know anything about China.
The One China principle is the cornerstone of Chinese foreign policy and politics.
