“Embracing AI” means laying off 21,000 people for more compute hardware.
Anyone involved in creating deep/artificial neural networks knows that there are diminishing returns for the “fidelity” of language models when scaling compute capacity; “scaling” does very little in the face of the limitations of the current paradigms of SoTA frontier models’ architectures.
Simply put, they’re so stupid, they fired the people who could maybe innovate for more hardware… that requires many of the very same smart people they told to kick rocks in the first place.
